Apple has been selling special edition iPODs for a while now like the U2 edition and now a Harry Potter one. You can even personalize them with a message.
Well, what if that’s just not enough? Or you want something fancier? What if you want a mini, or your Powerbook!?
Well, ETCHamac is your answer! Send in your art, photos, logos, etc and they’ll laser etch it on!

If you’re like me and always want the latest ad greatest of something, then this is for you. With the release of Firefox 1.5 beta 1, many of of the extensions out there don’t work and will get disabled by Firefox. Even the “extensions.disabledObsolete = false” trick won’t save you here.
The answer is a little extension called The Nightly Tester Tools. Among other things, the key feature here is it allows you to install incompatible extensions and force the application to believe an extension is compatible with the current version and enable it. (Only works on recent builds of Firefox and Thunderbird, branch and trunk since 20/08/2005).

The one great thing about Linux that I’ve always been hoping someone at Microsoft would implement into Windows are Symbolic Links.
The interesting thing here is, is that there is something similar already in Windows called Junction Points except that they are only limited to directories and appear to have some issues in using them. (The Junction Point link has a list of the issues) To create links to files, you want something that will create Hard Links…
After doing a little digging around, I was pretty surprised to see that there are a number of utilities and extensions out there to create junction points and hard links already. (Again, refer to the Junction Point link for a short list of available programs at the bottom).
I haven’t tried any of these programs yet, and am not sure that I will, but for anyone who really wants to use them, there you go!

Here’s a neat Channel 9 interview with Kam Vedbrat, lead program manager on the Aero interface being developed for Windows Vista.
There’s a bunch of useless talk, but he goes into a bunch of neat features in the new version of windows and some interesting talk about how things work behind the scenes.
