Norton subscription expires before it’s supposed to

So this actually happened to a client of mine before and not able to find an answer, my only thought was to contact Norton and have them check it out. Unfortunately Norton doesn’t have any kind of contact number, or any real way of contacting anyone for that matter, on their website. The solution at that time was to purchase another copy and be done with it.
Unfortunately it happened again. This time to my sister and because I had made sure to create a Norton account which notes the subscription start and end date, we were positive that we still had a good 2 months left on the subscription. This time I did more digging on and off and finally found the fix.
The steps however are a little out of date so I’ll post the updated ones here after the jump.
Now, if you already know your product key, you can skip to step 5. If you don’t, the following steps will only work if you created a Norton account when you first installed the product. If you didn’t, you may be able to find the product key on the About screen of the product.
- Make sure you’re connected to the Internet.
- Load up your Norton product
- Under the “Help and Support” menu on the top right of the Norton product click “My Account.” You’ll be asked to login. If you didn’t create a Norton account when you first installed the program, then instead of clicking “My Account” click on “About.” This should show you your product key. If not, then you need to start looking for your original packaging.
- Click on the Norton Product in question and you should see the expiration date and product key. If your subscription hasn’t expired, copy the key and then close the window.
- Click on “Help and Support” and go to”Activate”
- Enter your product key. The product will then try to confirm the key and subscription. If all goes well, you should be back on track with your subscription and you can now go back and run Live Update.
That’s it! Pretty easy isn’t it? I only wish they made this information a little easier to find.
